Draft — final text before Play submission.
This policy covers the Android app Athan – Islamic Prayer Times (package com.codedebate.athan), published by RB-Ventures.
What the app collects
Nothing. The app has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no crash reporting of its own. It makes no network connections. Nothing you enter or choose leaves the device.
Location
Your location is used only when you tap "Use my location", once, on the device, to find the nearest town in the built-in list. The app keeps only the name of the town you end up choosing; it does not store coordinates and never sends them anywhere. You can instead pick a town by searching, in which case the app never asks for location at all.
Notifications and alarms
If you tick "Remind me at prayer times", the app schedules alarms on your phone and plays your chosen sound at each enabled prayer. This uses the Android notification and exact-alarm permissions on the device only. A sound file you choose is copied into the app's private storage so it can play even when the original is deleted; it is not uploaded.
Third-party data
The list of towns and their coordinates and time zones is derived from GeoNames, licensed under CC BY 4.0, and is bundled inside the app. Prayer-time calculations use the open-source adhan library (MIT). Neither is contacted at run time.
